Qualitative Research Project

Vanessa Rodriguez

Introduction

My qualitative research project was focused on a facility that provides a primary focus on patient care. My main focus in the project was on the workers in that facility. I was able to do an observation in the facility. As well, I was able to interview a couple of workers from there. I was able to get access to the group and was able to acquire and view diverse perspective of each individual worker. I had the pleasure to interview some CNAs, Activities Aide, and Dietary aide and finally a cook. While conducting the interviews I was able to appreciate their perspective on their working environment. I was able to discover their inner voice and was able to see through their perspective how they view their positions and co-workers. I was capable to see them in action and their behaviors in their workforce. While gathering information about the facility I discovered several intriguing things about it. I was capable in recognize an overall view of what other individuals think about the facility and other facilities similar to it.

Literature review

One of the social theories that have been present was the social theory by Marx. This theory covers the ideology and power seen in our society. In the article, "Marx: Ideology and Power" Dillon discuss more in-depth about what Marx meant about ideology. When Marx came upon with the idea of Ideology, he meant as a society have become used to things that society has built throughout the years, molding us to think they are normal. (Dillon 2018:63)When in fact the mending of our society is wrong yet, we believe they are normal. How back then it was prostrate that the rich or royalty was the ones who own everything and anyone lower than them were the workers or slaves. Looking forward things is the same but we see it now normal that rich people are the ones who own business and we work for them. As a result of our labor, we give them profit, but at times we cannot even afford that product or other things. There was another idea of Marx came along about the power that is in our society. In where only the wealthy is able to gain profit and the worker is misused. For example, the workers give their time and labor at work, and what they give back is their wage. Once the workers get their paycheck, they end up giving back in consumption. Therefore, they never end up benefiting as much as the wealthy who owns companies or business. In overall in our society, the idea of this is normal, and it never saw beyond normal.
Another theory that was shown was Durkheim. In the section, "Durkheim's Sacred" Dillon discusses more Durkheim ideas of what his ideas of scaring are. When Durkheim discusses Sacred, it means when people put a value to materials. As for example in religion, people give a status of saints a significant meaning to them. If anyone does something wrong to it goes all against believing and morals. We see this in churches, and homes were people put value in materials and they make them sacred. In churches, they would worship these items and prohibit people to disrespect their belief or those sacred items. As for the result of those sacred items, religion becomes part of our society. Religion has become a social fact in where it becomes pure for us. That when Durkheim also comes with the concept of our social norms. Durkheim came up with the concept of social fact also known as collective representation. With social facts, people have created concepts of life that they seem normal. This is when social norms come into play. When Durkheim discusses social norms, he reflects they are what shape us (Dillon 2018). The way we follow norms or even how we view things is what creates our image in our society. For example, in our jobs, we are expected to behave at a professional level and talk to people a certain way. Since our society, we have been taught that how we have supposed to be in our jobs. If we do otherwise, we are punished or looked upon for going against norms.
Furthermore, another theory that was presented was the symbolic interaction theory. This theory is branched out to several concepts and goes in depth with each branch of symbolic interaction. The individual who comes up with the symbolic interactionism was George Herbert Mead. Mead comes up with the concept of self, meaning how we identify our society to society. The way self is seen is by me and I, just simply the way we see ourselves in several ways. The concept of self is developed through social interaction, the way this works is the way people see us and interact with us (Dillon 2018:276). We become aware of how others view us and how we want people to see us. When at the end we act how people say we are, so if people always tell you are nice. You start picking up that behavior more and start acting more that way since people are always telling you that you are nice. This is the phase in where we built our self-esteem based on how people view us and then affects us how we view ourselves.

Methods

When conducting a research project on a group of interest. Some of the methods that would be very useful in a qualitative research project would be for it to have ethnography information, and the researcher must have conducted interviews from the individuals of the group. Another method the researcher must have done is to have content analyze on information about the group.

Going more in depth in the information need in a qualitative research project is they must have a section of ethnography. Ethnography is also known as fieldwork, this is when a researcher goes out and observes a particular culture or a group of people. There are several things a research must do in order to have a success in observing a group. When a researcher is doing a research on private property or in closed areas, they must ask permission to the selective group if they are allowed there. If the researcher is observing in public places, they do not have to say anything to anyone, unless they want to say something. Another important thing that would be useful in gain information about a group is to have a key informant. When an individual has a key informant and makes setting and organizing with the group go much smoother (Warren and Karner 2010). If the researcher does not know anyone from the group, they will have a much harder time trying to communicate with them or gaining information about them. Once a researcher has gained access to the group, they are able to conduct their observations. Typically an observation could be done with thirty minutes to an entire day of work to gain as much information as possible (Warren and Karner 2010). Once someone has observed a group, they typically write field notes of what they saw or have alternative ways of getting their notes down. Some of the ways they can get their notes down is by recording as they go and noting what has been seen. Once they are done with the observation, they can have a reflection on what they saw. Then they have to rely on their memory of what they saw they can do a thick and as detailed description of the actions or things they saw (Warren and Karner 2010).

Another method very commonly used in qualitative research projects are interviews.

Interviews are when you ask individuals or a group of individuals a series of questions in a sitting. Interviews could be conducted in various ways like face to face interviews or over the phone interviews. When conducting interviews an interviewer must have questions ready to tell the interviewee. They might have several questions that are open-ended questions for the respondents this allows the responded to speak freely about an issue using their own words (Warren and Karner 2010). This way they are capable to gain as much information as possible of the group or the individual. When a researcher is going to conduct an interview, they must first see if it is going costing them. Also if they are going having to pay the individual, they are going interviewing. When a qualitative interviewer is ready to conducted interviews, they have to find a setting in where they feel comfortable conducting the interview. They should never place themselves in dangerous situations or being completely alone in the interviews only if they do feel uncomfortable. When interviewing someone the interviewer must develop rapport between the interviewee this way they are able to get honest and reliable information (Warren and Karner 2010).  When interviewing it always a good idea to probe the interviewee to get as much information as possible and not have awkward silences in between questions. With interviews the qualitative interviewer could experience and view the different point of views of each individual they have interviewed.

Lastly, the method that would be very useful in qualitative research is to find information about the group you're interested in. Content analysis is a method used to validate information and code materials. Something that could be used is documents or even pictures related to the group. Some of the information about groups or an individual could be found in public and other times the researcher has to ask permission to gain access to the information. To analysis information, they could use pictures or graphs to code and analysis the information of the group (Warren and Karner 2010). There are several programs they could use to transcript pictures and videos audio and even documents on the internet. Once they have all the information, they are able to analysis the patterns and themes they found in the information about a group (Warren Karner 2010). Once they have all the information, they are able to appreciate a different perspective on how the group is viewed through numerous sources. With the content analysis, they could find the background information of the group or an individual. They could get a better understanding of the group's culture and the reasons why they behave a certain way or think. Once all the information is completed like having all the fieldwork and interviews and content analysis done. The qualitative researcher could use different programs to analysis all the data they gathered. They could start coding and assembling their information to put together the whole project.

Analysis

Ethnography
Roles
In my observation, I could clearly see who was who in the facility that I was observing. The roles that people had were seen by the way they behave around others.
"As I am talking to the nurse, two other nurse passes by me talking to each other. They were talking about charting and things that need to be done."
In my observation, there is a clear understating who the nurses are and what they do in the facility. Most of the nurses are the ones who have the most important role in the facility.
"Nurse Susan is still in the same location she was previously, she was disturbing medication to patients."
In the facility, the nurses have the role of disturbing the medication to the patients and handling all the things that the workers are uncertified to do so. The ones who role is more stressful and very busy are the CNA who takes the job as the assistant of the nurse. They do everything that the nurse tells them to do and have a very challenging shift.
"She started telling me her job is very hard and stressful. She was having a rough day since she was doing multiple things at once."

Statues

In my observation, I was able to see the statues of the individuals who work there based on the occupation they have in the facility. If a person has more things to do, they are more likely to have a lower position in the facility.
"Then I see another worker whom I see a glimpse of their badge it, housekeeper. The housekeepers are the ones who distribute the food carts throughout the facility. It first I was confused about the food carts and I see the time and I realize it lunch time."
As for the CNA, their status in the facility is very harsh since they feel like they are not appreciated by other. They feel like they have a very heavy load of work. People who have higher positions from them treat them bad cause of the statues they have in the facility and the position they are in.
"Marlene started talking about how they were short staff and they had a very tiring shift. The other CNA added they were unappreciated by others. Especially the worker from the office they treated CNA bad and overworked them."
In my observation, I was able to see many other statues of workers and the things why would do there in the facility. Several workers are not nurses and CNAs in the facility.
"Her job is an activity aide. She was putting away crayons and coloring books."

Backstage

While I was observing I would clearly see the behaviors people had while not working or when they would take little breaks from their occupation. Most of the times when somebody of higher authority was not around, they would conversant among each other. They would be talking about work and how things were going in their shift.

"I see a CNA walk behind the nurse's station and grabs a cup of water and starts talking to the nurse who still by the cart working. They start talking about the weather how it getting unusually cold. They were glad they finally turned on the heater in the facility and that it made a difference."

Sometimes the workers would get out of track when nobody was around them. They would start making funny statements. This was one way they are able to cope with stress and make their shifts go by quickly by them taking the time off and making jokes.

"After they were done being serious they started joking around with each other. They started talking about a concert they want to go to. They were also looking outside to make sure nobody was coming or else they could get in trouble for slacking off."

Even when something happens to them or other workers they tend to talk about others. They gossip about other people and try to analyze what happened to them, or any situation that had to occur.

"The nurse walks away, you can hear the activity worker telling the nurse off and saying she was wrong to other workers. She did not know what she was talking about and the reason why she was yelling at her."

Front stage

In my observation, I was able to see front stage performance throughout the facility. I was able to see workers show their performance as a worker. They were able to show their work face and knew when they had to be serious. They were able to do their duties and task they were assigned as workers and give their full potential.

"I see a worker who has two carts full of food trays. She takes them to distribute them to the patients. She walks back and forth several times with food carts."

The nurses were able to do their performance as a nurse and show their full potential as the worker they are. They were able to show their dedication to their work environment.

"Tina is working on the computer. The computer is on top of a mobile cart. The cart is a pale brown and red with drawers on the cart. The computer they use has information about patients, and the drawers had medical supply and medication for patients."

Other workers would show their full act as a worker and show their performance as an activity aide. They were able to show their best foot forward. They give their best act in their duties.

"She started telling me she was done with one activity and was going to start another one in a bit. She took out a container that was full of bingo cards and the spinning wheel with balls in it. She places them on the table and started handing out the bingo cards."

Definition of the situation

In my observation, I was able to see the definition of the situation with among the workers. I was able to see the authority of many workers. Each worker sits up the situation and mood in the facility. The following situation was not handled in a professional manner, but rather in a rude manner.

"The nurse who was yelling at her said she was going to call her supervisor and tell her that the activity worker was not doing things in time. The activity worker then started to defend herself and said to go ahead and tell them."

When it came in dealing with situations that had to do with confrontations they were deals in the wrong way. The individuals with higher positions would try putting others who had lower positions down. They wanted to have power over others.

"I could hear her telling the CNA that she needs to be on top of her tasks because things were not being done on time. The CNA's face seems like she was upset that they were telling her things and she stared at me when I walked by."

The nurses were able to give authority and send out people to do task they had to do. This would also help keep the facility running. It also prevents people from slacking off and getting their job done in time.

"A CNA walks pass Nurse Susan and she asks the CNA to check on patient X and to continue doing her task after she is done. Then Nurse Tina passes by Nurse Susan."

Role making

In my observation, I have seen how roles were made in the facility. Nurses were shown as a person who has authority. The duties a nurse has created the roles they have as a nurse. Nurses are expected to behave in a certain way and most help others and remind others about things that need to be done.
"Susan stops Tina, and she tells Tina to make sure she completes a section in their charting before she leaves. She was reminding her so she won't forget."
Sometimes the nurses feel like they need having a higher authority and power over other workers. Since they have a higher position as others they feel the sense of power. They try correcting people in ways that are improper. Their role making skills are not the best when it comes to authority.
"I when to check really quick and there was a nurse yelling at one of the workers. The nurse was pointing at the clock and telling the worker to see what time it was and that why haven't she started doing her activities."
They are also the backbone of the facility without the nurses' things will get undone. If they do not have good leadership skills, the facility will crash. Some of the nurses do have good skills in leading people and making sure they get stuff done.
"I believe one of them was the nurse and the other one was the CNA. I could hear her telling the CNA that she needs to be on top of her tasks because things were being undone on time."

Interviews

Roles

In my interviews I was able to hear about different positions that are held in this facility. Every individual clearly has different roles will working as well as outside of work. Every position in the facility varies on where you had have some type of training or schooling.

"Respondent: I'm a CNA here in the facility.

Interviewer: And what do you do as a CNA?

Respondent: Well, there are a lot of things I just help them with the daily activities that they do, like, I help them go to the restroom. Like I walk them to the restroom, help them change. And what else do I do? I help them shower. I help them mainly helping them to just do all their activities."

In my interviews I was able to see the roles of a CNA and the duties they have in the facility. They seem like they have a full list of things to do all the time. I was able to see the roles of an activities aide as well.

"Respondent: Activities assistant.

Interviewer: What do you do their?

Respondent: I work with Alzheimer's patients.  I entertain them. I supply them with their coffee and drinks."

In the facility there is a variation of roles that has to be done by each worker. Some may have harder roles and other might have it much easier than others.

"Respondent:  I'm a dietary aide, and I make sure that everything is prepared how it supposed to be and um for the residents get what they need."

The roles in the facility are separated and are clearly divided by departments. Other roles are seen by the duties you have to do in the facility. Some roles are higher than other and the same as the responsibility the individual has in the position.

Statues

In the interviews I was able to hear about workers statues and what they thought their statues was in the facility. Everyone had different perspective on what their statues were and the position they were in the facility.

"Respondent: I was saying my position is important. Because without me like the food wouldn't get done for the elderly."

The worker that I interviewed who works in the kitchen believes their job is important since without them. Without their job there would be no distribution of food in the facility.

Other workers had a different viewed in the termed statues.

"Respondent: I consider my status like a hard worker and I have to care for the residents and being like, a care a really good caregiver, I guess you could say."

The workers also look into their characteristics that go based on their position, not just the bases of the importance of the position. They look into their behavior that helps develop their statues in the facility.  Yet, there are some who consider their status to be important and are need to help things running in the facility.

"Respondent: My status here? Like what do you mean? Oh, like my position here. I feel like it's really important. We're like the backbone here because we see where the eyes of the facility because we excuse me, we're like, always with the residence like hands on everything with them. So yeah, we're very important."

Backstage

In my interviews I was able to hear from workers how their behavior is while they are not working.  Several of the workers stated their behavior did change when they were not working. While others believed their behavior was the same at work and home.

"Respondent: Well, I'm working like every day. But my behavior outside of work. I feel like ever since I started working here now, like it, it spreads what's a thing the like, the caring thought, like, now it's like, I care for everyone. Like, I'm at home and I find out my dad sick and I'm just like, oh, let me go help you with this. Let me go help you with that. So I feel like when I'm not in the facility, I'm since I work here. Like every day, I'm always in that state of mine of like, helping."

Many of the workers take their behavior they have at work to their houses. Many are just used to behaving all the time the same. They become accustomed to the behaviors they need to at work.

" Respondent: It's exactly the same. I get along with everybody tried to be helpful. I don't disrespect anybody. I try to be as honest as I can."

Meanwhile other workers behaviors outside of worker do change and it also varies in the position they have. Some workers when they are outside of work have a different attitude and do not let work get into their personal life.

"Respondent: Oh, yeah, it changes a lot. And I'm just like, really different in really like, loud and funny, I guess you could say."

Front stage

In my interview I was able to hear how workers behave will working. How they handle their positions in the facility. I was able to discover that each person behavior while working is very different from each other.

" Respondent: Yeah, professional but like, at the same time, not too much, because I like to show them that we're all like human and it's okay. Because sometimes they would like they just like a friend to talk to. So you could be professional and also a good friend or caregiver."

Several of the worker's behavior is to act professional around patients and they must take their job seriously. Yet, they also believe there is a time where you could relax and not be serious all the time.

"Respondent: Depends on the day sometimes serious, concentrating a lot."

Workers have a different day in where their behaviors are different and it also varies in the duties they have for that day. There are times where they are stressed and need to focus on their work. There are other times where they could loosen up a little.

"Respondent: Under a lot of stress at work.

Interviewer: Are you very outgoing how you are?

Respondent: Yes, I am very outgoing um, but I am also under a lot of stress."

Definition of the situation

In the interviews, I learned that in the facility there is a lot of situations that had occurred that sit up the mood of authority among the workers. I was able to hear how the theory of definition of the situation developed among the workers.

"Respondent: Yeah, I mean, it's like an everyday thing, I guess you could say, because of the fact that like they think, you're just not always busy. And they wanted to be like, right there like at that time, and it's really hard because you have so much patients to take care of and to care for. So like, if we don't get there at that time, they start telling us things. And so yeah, one time there was this resident that needed help. And she was like yelling now and me in another CNA. We're in another room in the nursing the nurse was like off on the different section shows on a different wing, I guess and make sure the resident was yelling for help. And we didn't notice until afterwards. And there was a big commotion and they just told us things about it because of the fact that we can be two places at once. And we came together as a team they got mad that we came together and we were helping each other for one thing that was really hard and so we got in trouble for it. We call it like written up because of the fact that like, we can be there at that time."

In certain situations, most workers will get in trouble for not doing thing the way the worker should be doing them. Something could have been done differently if the corrected protocol was done.  Other times situations do not go the right way or when things are done the wrong way. They can take it as a learning experience.

"Respondent: Yes. Sometimes when a person has seniority they feel like they could put you down or think that they're better than you. But we're all the same. So I try to take it as ease is taking us there showing me something new for me to learn."

Sometimes workers take things different ways as other workers. Some take it as a way they could become a better worker in the facility. Other feel the things that are done in the facility are not done properly. Sometimes things need to be done a different way in order for everyone to get along and show good performance in the facility. If situations are not handled correctly sometimes an employee can hold grudges on other workers for not handling a situation the correct way.

"Respondent: Okay. For example, at one point I was bitten by resident I went through the nurse she told me to report to my boss. I went to my boss and my boss. Tell me to go report it to the nurse. So when I went to the office, I mentioned it that got bitten. And their reply was stop being a crybaby and get back to work and they don't treat me."

Content Analysis

Claims

In the information, I found for my content analyze I was able to find Claims in the information.  Claims are when an individual or group uses certain phrases or words to try and convince people into doing something. In the reviews about the facility, I was able to see the claims individuals had on this types of facilities.

"It's a great place to work. Upon entering everyone is welcoming and always smiling. The team is very patient-centered. They try to accommodate patient comfort and preference. The therapy team is in-house and has amazing staffs who goes above and beyond their duty!"

Some of the words a lot of individuals would use to claim something would be they state the facility is great and that there are a lot of friendly individuals there. Those are some caught phrases individuals use to attract other people to possible work their or even put a family member in them.

"Very friendly place to work for the staff is very friendly and helpful Medical Records Clerk (Former Employee) I learn how to do medical records, also answer multi-phone lines and fax and scan emails. The staff was very helpful and caring to the patients at the facility."

As stated previously individuals are able to say there is a lot of great opportunities and great benefits. Words that are able to attract individuals and perhaps persuasive them in applying to work for this facility. When maybe in reality it could be a false advertisement or it would be true information to attract other workers.

"Excellent agency to work Clinic Manager II (Former Employee) Overall rating One of my favorite jobs. As a Clinic Manager I learned many new skills working in Public Healthcare Administration. I had great benefits, a very successful clinic, great hours and a great group of staff and physicians to work with. Great learning opportunity."

Typifications

The sources that I found for the content analyze I was able to find information based on typification. Typification is when society or individuals create social construction or norms on things supposed to have standards. The state and health regulation also have standards on how they want facilities to be run and sometimes these facilities do not meet the standards given to them.

"Failed To: Develop a complete care plan that meets all the resident's needs, with timetables and actions that can be measured. Ensure that each resident's 1) entire drug/medication regimen is free from unnecessary drugs, and 2) is managed and monitored to achieve the highest level of well-being."

Some facility is not able to do the essentials of keeping up with the standards the state have made for them. Several are not meeting the need the patients need or they are not reaching the full potential for patient care. Other times it could be the environmental as well that is not kept up to date.

"Failed To: Dispose of garbage and refuse properly.

Failed To: Maintain drug records and properly mark/label drugs and other similar products according to accepted professional standards.

Failed To: Have a program that investigates, controls and keeps an infection from spreading."

Other places to meet the standards of the state or even of individuals. If a facility is in a good and rich neighborhood, they are expected to be nice and have high standards for the individual and patient care.

"The location of this place is on the high end side of town. Safe location to live in for elderly. Thank you for the nice review. We work diligently to be sure our residents on very safe on our campus and wherever they travel with us.

Is a well-organized and very caring nurses here. Very good food and rooms are always clean and activities are very organized too!"

Ground (diagnostic frame)

In the information, I found for the content analyzes I was able to find several issues that are addressed in diagnostic framing. Diagnostic framing is when there is an issue had been found and it was identified by either an institution or at the individual level. Some facility was unable to keep up with the regulations that the health publicity has for patient care

"Failed To: Reasonably accommodate the needs and preferences of each resident.

Review or revise the resident's care plan after any major change in physical or mental health. Completely assess the resident at least every twelve months."

Other issues that were found were drugs record were not being filed correctly and were not keeping up with proper inventory regulations. They did not produce proper guidelines in case of an emergency or infection control.

"Failed To: Maintain drug records and properly mark/label drugs and other similar products according to accepted professional standards. Have a program that investigates, controls and keeps an infection from spreading. Set up an ongoing quality assessment and assurance group to review quality deficiencies quarterly, and develop corrective plans of action."

In some facility, the staff did not show they cared about the patients. They were not following rules or laws about the care of the patent. Their behaviors were reflecting the image of the environment and their work performance.

"Rude & disrespectful staff, the CNA's don't do their rounds every 2 hours like they're supposed to, the facility does not have any fall risk protocol, the halls are shared with both men and woman."

Motivational frame

In some source that I found for the content analyzes I was able to obtain information that best explained motivational framing. Motivational framing is when institutions or individual give other people reasons why individuals should get involved with certain problems or facilities. The information I found I was able to see several excellent reviews of some facilities, these reviews would motivate individuals into taking their loved ones there.

"I was unsure about the initial placement of my mother; it was our first time in a nursing home. All I can say is there is a lot of negative media affecting nursing homes like this one. We were all very happy with the results seen in my mother. Took her about 6 and half months to recover from her stroke. I commend all of the wonderful staff."

Several individuals motivated others by stating that not all information on the internet is true. They need trying it out in order for one to experience it and know the truth. Other times just by saying it in a good neighborhood is a good caught to attract people of the upper class or just about anyone.

"Review Excellent nursing home in the area. Great staff, very professional and passionate about the senior population. All nurses are always ready to help any time of the day. Very clean place. Food is awesome. Feels like a hotel Like quality and hospital-like care. My grandma is very happy in this place. She came here from a different nursing home, where she was never happy. Even though, she would never go back to that nursing home. She likes the activities in this facility a lot. This facility has a friendly atmosphere and the manager is very helpful as well. The great director of nursing…"

If a person knows the facility is great and they have good food services and workers are very dedicated to what they do. It will motivate them in considering in taking their family member to those facilities that have better reviews than others that have bad reviews. Even if the individuals have to pay a little extra they will still do it.

"My father is in there and I thank the workers! They work hard and have patience with my dad! Plus they speak Spanish so my father feels comfortable communicating his needs. My father has always been clean. Thank you for all the hard work. I realize it is so hard to work with dementia patients."

Collective Action Frame

In the information, I found for the content analyzes I was able to find information that was based on collective action frame. A collective action frame is a tool that helps individuals or institutions to organize their experience and their problems. Perhaps negotiate a possible solution to the community about a problem that has been found. In these facilities, they have found a solution in helping elderly individuals and have a mental disease.

"The facility aims to provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment for its Alzheimer's residents in a community-style setting. If required, a large Memory Care in a facility can provide a secure, monitored area for Alzheimer's Disease residence that has tendencies to wander."

The facilities have set standards and goals in how they want to benefit the community with an elderly individual who need help or need care. Several of these facilities are able to provide this care for elderly individuals and help family member be in ease.

"The goal in this facility is to improve the quality of life for terminally ill patients and work with their family to provide a comfortable environment the professionals in the facility manage all challenges and needs related to end of life care."

In some facility, they are capable to provide support groups for the family member as well for the patient. This helps with the transition of being in the facility and coping with a family and ill member or has mental disorders. They want the most beneficial outcome for the patient and the family members.

"The family council, composed of families and friends of residents, serves as a support group, as well as a liaison between families, staff and management. The council is dedicated to the promotion and improvement of the health, welfare, and happiness of all residents. "

Conclusion

Overall all the information I found for the qualitative research project I uncovered wonderfully intriguing information. I was able to gather enormously enough information, and I was able to apply sociological theories on them. I was able to define my information from a different perspective. The NVivo program made things better and helped develop my thoughts with nodes. I discovered that some positions grant more authority over the rest of the people and some workers feel like they are unappreciated in their job.
